R Tech Polypropylene Fibers

R Tech PP Polypropylene Fiber 12mm | Anti-Crack Concrete Additive
R Tech PP Polypropylene Fiber is a high-performance, 100% virgin polymer multifilament micro-fiber engineered specifically for concrete and mortar reinforcement. Designed to distribute evenly throughout your mix, These fibers form an internal multi-directional matrix that controls cracking before it starts. Whether you are working on industrial flooring, external plastering, or precast concrete elements, R Tech PP Fiber delivers unmatched structural integrity and long-term durability.
Polypropylene is the lightest synthetic polymer. Hence the count of fiber for a given weight is maximum in case of polypropylene. It is 52% lighter than polyester and 26% lighter than nylon and
acrylic. Hence polypropylene fibers are ideal for reinforcement.
R-TECH Polypropylene (PP) Construction Fibers feature proprietary chemical surface treatments engineered to maximize dispersion and chemical-mechanical anchorage within cementitious matrices
Monofilament Separation & Uniform Matrix Integration: The advanced chemical treatment breaks surface tension, preventing fiber balling or clumping during mixing. This allows millions of individual strands to disperse uniformly, forming a dense, three-dimensional micro-reinforcement network
Superior Interfacial Bond Strength: The modified surface chemistry enhances physical and chemical adhesion to the surrounding hydrated cement paste, increasing shear load transfer and improving pull-out resistance.
Universal Admixture Compatibility: Fully compatible with all conventional and high-range water reducers, superplasticizers, retarders, and pozzolanic admixtures (such as silica fume and fly ash) without altering chemical hydration reactions or entraining unwanted air.
Optimized Rheology & Mix Workability: Rapid multi-directional dispersion ensures seamless incorporation during batching—whether in high-shear mixers or Ready-Mix Concrete (RMC) truck drums—maintaining design workability without requiring additional water demand.
These are available in 6mm, 12mm, 24mm, 50 mm and mix/Hybrid also.

R Tech PP Fibers Sizes and Use
- General Sizing Rule recommended Length:
- Fiber Length > Maximum Size of Aggregate (MSA)
For optimum reinforcement, the fiber length should exceed the largest aggregate size used in the mix to ensure individual strands can anchor properly around the stones
Micro (3mm-6 mm) (1/4″)
Target Aggregate: Fine sand / no coarse aggregates.
Best For: Thin finishing plaster coats, ornamental castings, renderings, and surface micro-crack prevention. Easy hand-mixing dispersion without fiber balling.
Medium (12mm)
Target Aggregate: Sand and micro-aggregates(< 10 mm).
Best For: Mortar mixes with application thickness (<10 mm) screeds, structural repair mortars, external plastering, and waterproofing coats.
Standard Concrete Lengths (24 mm – 36 mm)
24 mm – 25 mm (1″)
Target Aggregate: Standard coarse aggregates up to 19 mm – 20 mm.
Best For: Machine-mixed ready-mix concrete (RMC) and site-mixed concrete. Sits on the threshold between micro and macro reinforcement, preventing shrinkage cracking across standard slab thicknesses.
36 mm (1-1/2″)
Target Aggregate: Aggregates up to 25 mm.
Best For: Heavy-duty concrete structural mixes and blended multi-length formulations requiring increased tensile anchorage.

36 mm (1-1/2″)
Target Aggregate: Aggregates up to 25 mm.
Best For: Heavy-duty concrete structural mixes and blended multi-length formulations requiring increased tensile anchorage. Structural Graded Blends (24 mm – 50 mm Mix)
Graded Size Mix (e.g., 24 mm + 36 mm + 50 mm)
Best For: Heavy industrial flooring, load-bearing slabs, shotcrete/gunite, and replacing traditional light steel wire mesh.
Why It Works: Short fibers (24 mm) increase total fiber count per unit volume to prevent early plastic cracking, while long fibers (36 mm & 50 mm) provide deep structural anchorage and post-crack load transfer.

Application
Step-by-Step Batching & Mixing Procedures
1. Onsite Drum Mixers (Site-Mixed Concrete)
- Initial Cleaning & Pre-wetting: Dose a small quantity of wash water into the empty mixer drum to clean out residue from the previous batch.
- Add Fibres First: Add the required dosage of R-TECH Fibres directly into the rotating empty drum with the initial wash water.
- Load Dry Materials & Water: Load dry coarse aggregates, fine sand, cement, and remaining batch water into the drum.
- Mix: Continue normal mixing operation for 3 to 5 minutes until fibers are completely dispersed throughout the mix.
2. Ready-Mix Concrete (RMC) Trucks
- Dosing: Add R-TECH Fibres in small lots directly into the rotating drum at the batching plant or at the jobsite before discharge.
- High-Speed Mixing: Once dosing is complete, mix the truck drum at maximum speed (approx. 12–15 RPM) for an extra 20 to 30 revolutions (approx. 4–5 minutes).
- Inspection: Inspect the concrete stream at discharge to confirm full multi-directional dispersion before pouring.
3. Manual / Hand Mixing (For R-TECH 06MM & R-TECH 12 MM For Mortars/Plasters)
- Water Pre-Dispersion: Place the measured dose of R-TECH 6mm Micro or R-TECH 12mm fiber into a bucket of batch water.
- Stir: Stir the water vigorously for a few seconds so individual fiber filaments unbundle and disperse evenly in the liquid.
- Combine: Pour the fiber-water slurry evenly over the dry sand-cementitious mortar mix.
- Blend: Hand-mix or paddle-mix thoroughly until a uniform, lump-free plaster/render mortar is achieved.
